Joining your first Hydrohex Studio Class

Hydrohex is more than just a aqua fitness class. We train together as a team. We’re coached by world-class instructors who motivate and challenge us every time.

Exercisers come to us to experience breakthroughs and unlock their full potential – in and out of the pool. Let’s get you ready for the class!

Preparing for the class

Here’s everything you need to know before you get to the studio.

Take your swimsuit, towel and water bottle with you. If you prefer using swimming shoes for better grip, those are fine as well!

Even though we are working out in the water, the class will get you sweat! So hydration is important.

Some of our most dedicated exercisers also like to wear heart rate sensors during the class to track their progress.

Arriving at the studio

We can’t wait to see you at the Studio and work out together! Here’s what to expect when you visit us for your very first time.

Arrive early

Get to the studio 15 minutes before class and check in for the class. If you are coming for a trial class, let the staff know, and they will go through the basics with you before the class.

Locker rooms

There are lockers where you can store your items during class. Take a lock with you, as some of the lockers don’t have one.

Take a shower, and let’s meet at the pool!

The Class

The Hydrohex classes are virtual, and are shown from big screens by the pool.

Our studio pools are dedicated for Hydrohex. You will have a space where you can concentrate on the workout without the distractions.

Leave your water bottle on the pool edge, find an empty spot in the pool leaving space for others, and prepare for the workout!

The workout

Each Hydrohex class in the mix is a 45-minute action packed workout. Divided into 9 distinct sections, you will always start with a proper warm up to get you ready for the days challenge. Each class ends with a cooldown, so even after a tough class you can leave the class with a relaxed feeling.

Tips for your first workout

Working out in the water doesn’t come naturally on first try. With these tips, you will get the most out of your class and the exercises!

Resistance

To get more resistance out of the water, keep your palms open and your fingers together. Some Studios even have special resistance equipment for those who are looking for even more power!

What’s special in the water is that your muscles will work both ways. The water gives resistance in all directions of your movements, so you can easily train your biceps and your triceps with one exercise like below!

Choose the right depth

If the pool has a slanted floor, choose a spot where the water is just below your chest level. You should feel stable standing still, and you can do movements without losing balance. Keep a slightly wide stance during upper body movements to maintain your balance.

Have Fun!

The magic of a Hydrohex is the amazing energy in the pool as exercisers work together — you’ll feel the good vibes whether if it’s your first time or your 100th.
